Inspired to make these coasters to get ready for summer patios. Looking forward to long summer evenings!
Be mindful of your gauge, it should lay flat. If you notice it starts to curl, trying using a larger hook size for the type of yarn you are using.
Materials:
Colour A = lime green, lemon yellow (or orange, watermelon etc.) depending on your fruit slice choice
Colour B = white
Hook (large hook size for size of yarn you use)
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle
Abbreviations:
Rnd = Round
st = stitch
sc = single crochet
sl st = slip stitch
( ) Parts in brackets are to be repeated until the end of the round.
Stitch count at the end of each line is shown.
Pattern:
Complete a magic circle/adjustable loop with 6 sc in the centre ring. (Reference my video tutorial to learn how)
Rnd 1: Using colour B – 2 sc in each st around (12)
Change colour to colour A using a sl st
Rnd 2: (2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in each of next 2 sts), repeat entire round (18)
Rnd 3: (2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in each of next 3 sts), repeat entire round (24)
Rnd 4: (2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in each of next 4 sts), repeat entire round (30)
Rnd 5: (2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in each of next 5 sts), repeat entire round (36)
Rnd 6: (2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in each of next 6 sts), repeat entire round (44)
Rnd 7: (2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in each of next 7 sts), repeat entire round
Rnd 8: (2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in each of next 8 sts), repeat entire round
Rnd 9: (2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in each of next 9 sts), repeat entire round
Switch to colour A for next round
Rnd 10: (2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in each of next 10 sts), repeat entire round
Switch to colour B for final round
Rnd 11: (2 sc in 1 st, 1 sc in each of next 11 sts), repeat entire round ()
Fasten off and weave in the tail.
FINISHING
With colour A, embroider segment lines on coaster using back stitch. Refer to video tutorial for further instruction.
